MACHINE SHOPS

Machine Shops, founded in 1944, offers a variety of Machine shop services in the ultra precision CNC machining field. It is our advanced 5 axis machining centers and Wire EDM that give us additional and unique capabilities that may be uncommon under one roof in normal machine shops. Certainly, there are a few machine shops in our league but very few! For example, we do not perform automotive work. We work only with industries where the components need to be extremely accurate and precise; when reliability is absolutely critical. Our best work was to achieve a tolerance of 0.5 micron (of course in a very special situation and frankly it is not normally possible even for us). Tolerances in the 3 to 10 microns ( .000394") range are easily achieved. In 5 Axis machining, we can achieve an angular tolerance of two thousandth's of a degree (.0020º) and One Micron Positional accuracy. We have Plunge/Sink EDM to produce fine detail/surface finish work, precision (small) gears and intricate cavities/shapes. Of course, we perform the "normal" CNC Machining work too - Our simpler 3 or 4 Axis CNC Machining and CNC lathe work would have tolerances in the range of 20 to 100 microns (.0008" to .004"). Work Envelope Size: X:24", Y:14", Z:12".

We perform miniature and micromachining using conventional CNC machines but we do not have Electro Chemical, Stereo Lithographic or Chemical Etching processes. For our CNC Lathe/Turning department, we generally work with diameters under 2" ( 50.8mm ) but our maximum capacity is 14" ( 355.6mm ).
