Ultra Precision Machining

We perform Ultra precision machining using 5 Axis CNC Machines, Multi Axes Swiss Machines, Super Precision Lathes with live spindles, micron accuracy Wire EDM Machines and Sink/RAM/Plunge EDMs.

Our Fine Wire EDM machines can offer ½ micron positional accuracies with 6Ra to 16 Ra surface finishes (we prefer not to claim 4Ra because we feel it is not practical with EDM process). We have one thou (.001”) wire capabilities, offering .001” ( .0254 mm ) corner radii. While it is truthful and nice to be able offer .001’ wire capability, we would caution you that it is very very expensive and not usually necessary in 99% situations.

Our 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC Machining Centers can offer 5-micron ( .000197" ) machining accuracy.

Our super precision turning centers offer 4 to 6 micron accuracies. Under special circumstances, we were able to produce small assemblies requiring millionths (in the range of .000020” or 0.50 Microns ) accuracies.

Of course, the inherent nature of lapping and grinding processes offer accuracies in the millionths range.
